In ancient culture, Obsidian was known as Itzli, which literally means the God of Stone, due to its sharpness it is told that the stone can pierce into darkness to reveal the truth itself. Obsidian was worn as a protective amulet during ancient wars, it was believed that the reflective surface of the stone would mirror back any negative vibrations to the sender.
 
How is Obsidian formed?
 
Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass, formed when lava solidifies so quickly that mineral Crystals do not have time to grow.
